We woke up at 5:30 to start driving towards our white water rafting adventures on the 5th of January. We had a delicious buffet breakfast and then got into our boats. The rapids were really fun and we got into the water a couple of times for a swim! After a couple of hours, we went back for lunch and were served delicious wraps. We then took the same 2 hour bus back and organised the rest of our trip, including our upcoming trek and accommodation and transport. We then split into 2 groups for dinner and enjoyed our meals.
We decided to change the itinerary around a little and make the 6th of January another chill day in San Jose to make time to buy food for the upcoming Santa Rosa trek and organising more of the project in Nicaragua. We had a delicious breakfast out in a local restaurant and then continued to organise our trip. Later we visited the national museum, where we took a 1 hour guided tour. We then explored the nearby markets that was packed with little stores selling cute souvenirs. Afterwards, we split into smaller groups to go find dinner and then head back to the hostel to pack for tomorrow, where we will be travelling to Liberia.
By the way, we won’t have any more access to wifi except for the 14th-15th of January, so there won’t be any more blog posts until then. Thanks for keeping up with our trip!
