We’re in Nicaragua!

On the 13th of January, we caught the bus to Nicaragua. It took longer than we expected and we ended up arriving in Nicaragua at around 3pm. We walked to Backpacker’s Inn and were both amazed and relieved at the spacious and beautiful place we were about to stay two nights in. We settled and then began finding a place to eat. After delicious burritos and icecream, we went back to the hotel to go for a night swim.

The next day we went zip lining! We travelled to the mountain in an open bus and got ourselves put into harnesses. After some briefing, we began our canopy adventure. It was super fun and thrilling with 7 zip lines, and finished with an adrenaline rush from a 13m drop. We enjoyed a Nicaraguan lunch and went back to our Inn. It was also Mitch’s 22nd birthday so we celebrated with a cake, and then split into smaller groups to explore the city of Granada. We walked around markets, churches, art galleries and bought some icecream, and then found dinner places along a busy street.

Tomorrow we are having a briefing of our project in the morning and then we are heading to the school in the afternoon to prepare for 4 days of working in the project.

P.S We may not have access to wifi until after the project.
